Another One for the Books: A Successful BBLA Annual Meeting
Highlights:
 
  • 2021 Virtual meeting on 6/26/21 - with 77 registrants
  • BBLA's Board President's Annual Report via PowerPoint
  • Annual Financial Report & 2021 Donations - will be posted on website with DRAFT Annual Meeting Minutes
  • New by-laws language APPROVED re Board nominations
  • 3 new Board Members & new terms for existing Board Members APPROVED - see Board Roster
  • Guest speaker from the South Coastal Village Volunteers (Donations Recipient)
 
BBLA Meetings with Sussex County Councilpersons -
Encouraging Methods for Controlling the Impact of Growth on BB
  • Doug Hudson, BB's County Council Rep, was a "NO" vote to the development of Evans Farm -
  • Although the final vote allows the project to begin - congratulate Doug Hudson on his position
  • BBLA will maintain communications with the County Council
 
  • First coronavirus declaration signed on 3/12/2020 to control the spread of COVID-19 in DE communities
  • Gov. Carney on 7/12/21 signed a limited State of Public Health Emergency declaration to prevent the spread of variants to those not vaccinated and to continue vaccination efforts for Delawareans
  • DE reached the 70% Covid-19 vaccination rate by 7/1
  • Hospitalizations are at a record low since the virus began
  • Unvaccinated are still strongly encouraged to wear a mask in accordance with CDC guidance
 
REMINDER: with crowded beaches and Public Works staff in short supply - let's be part of the solution!

Tickled Pink Store Owners Elise Lindsey & Michael Loftus presented a $500 donation to the BB Volunteer Fire Company President Justin Norman - a portion of their seasonal profits will be donated to community charities and non profits -also, a majority of their merchandise comes from vendor-partners with a charity sales component
