BBLA Value PropositionThe purpose of BBLA is reflected in Article III of the current Bylaws of the 501(c) 4 Association: BBLA is organized to carry on charitable, educational and civic work for the improvement of the Town of Bethany Beach. As a civic organization, BBLA fosters awareness of public matters affecting the interests of property owners and takes action when necessary to protect such interests. Advocacy amongst concerned property owners and a love of the small town beach community formed BBLA in 1969. Because Bethany Beach has been a positive experience for multiple generations of families, BBLA has continued for over 50 years to help keep the essence of the Town and influence changes meant to protect and enhance the Town. For the past several years, BBLA has been working on improving its communications with the Town and with its members. The Town Council and the 11 volunteer members of the BBLA Board of Directors have a respectful positive relationship. Both entities work towards protecting the best interests of Bethany Beach. In 2019, BBLA began providing its members with the BBLA Beach News, an electronic publication issued at least monthly, so that property owners (especially non-residents) can stay current with what’s happening in Bethany Beach. Recognizing that the majority of property owners are not residents of Bethany Beach, BBLA strives to represent its membership in matters affecting properties and the many aspects of residing in a beach town (whether full-time or part-time). |
