Around Town
  • DelDOT "traffic reminder" for the Anchorage Wet Pond Pedestrian Improvements currently in progress
  • Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) for water quality improvements to the Anchorage Canal drainage area (near Sea Colony)
  • Includes intersection improvements to Rt 1, Pennsylvania Ave. & Westway Dr.
  • Work includes construction of a wet pond & Rt. 1 northbound right-turn lane onto Pennsylvania Ave - signal modifications - installation of four 4'x2' box culverts - shared use path & pedestrian improvements
  • Detour signage for motorists
  • Anticipated project completion - mid June
  • Watch your BB government in action: quality streaming is available for Town meetings - next Town Council mtg - March 20th
  • Based on comments from the January meetings held in Ocean City re the Wind Energy Project, MD Public Services Commission will hold an evidentiary hearing re impacts related to the change in turbine size selected by Skipjack - date TBD
  • BB Town Council passed a resolution 0n 2-21-20 to further study and rexamine all aspects of the project as it applies to DE
  • Indian River School District (serves BB) voters approved a tax increase referendum to build a new high school & ease overcrowding issues throughout its campuses
  • Town Council passed Ordinance changes at 2-21-20 mtg for "pile driving" & "brush and grass"
  • Discussion & consideration at 2-21 mtg of reducing the maximum number of Town Council seats that would be up for election in any year from 4 to 3 & extending the terms of office of future Council members from 2 to 3 years
  • BB received grant from DE Dept. of Technology & Information to improve the Town's cybersecurity
