BBLA Board keeping members informed through ongoing communications with Town Officials and reporting on meetings affecting Bethany Beach
 
 
Around Town
 
  • The Anchorage Wet Pond Pedestrian Improvements near Sea Colony are making progress
  • Restaurants doing their best to "stay afloat" are filling take-out orders
 
  • Town of BB complies with Governor's COVID-19 orders
  • Beach & Boardwalk remain closed
  • 9th Modification - 4/1/20 - cancels all events of 10 or more people - further restricts operation of essential businesses to ensure adequate social distancing and proper hygiene; & prohibits price gouging
  • Restrictions for Out-of-State Motorists
  • Governor's 7th Modification ordered all out-of-state travelers coming into Delaware to immediately isolate themselves for 14-days to curtail the spread of the virus
  • Be aware the order carries the weight of law and stops have occurred in BB & surrounding jurisdictions
  • Commercial Lodging Closed thru 5-15-20

  • BBLA Board held a virtual mtg on 4-4-20 and the following motion was passed:
  • BBLA will notify the membership that the currently scheduled Annual Meeting for June 13, 2020 will be canceled. BBLA will be in communication with the membership in due course regarding how the business portion of the Annual Meeting for 2020 will be conducted.
  • Concern for small businesses in DE - posted information on Town of BB website
  • BBLA exploring multiple ways to help local businesses
  • DE granted Federal Disaster status on 4/5/20
  • The DE Restaurant Association Foundation has created a donation opportunity - Delaware Emergency Action Trust Restaurant Relief Fund (EATs) to assist hospitality workers
  • Neighbors looking out for each other:
  • Interfaith Group - Southeast Sussex Ministerium - 13 area churches staying in touch to meet the needs of those affected by COVID-19
  • South Coastal Library closed until further notice
  • 2020 Beach and Bay Cottage Tour canceled due to COVID-19 concerns
  • BBLA Donations Committee working towards helping multiple local businesses and charities
